The final phase of Noma Nation Orientation will be “Week of Welcome (WOW)!” Sonoma State kicks off programming with move-in day held on August 14, 2025. While getting acclimated to the campus, students will start to find their niche by engaging in the spirit, community and traditions which Week of Welcome has to offer you! This program is dedicated to all Transfer and First-Time First-Year Students. 

 

Here's what to expect at Week of Welcome:

Move-in Day: On-campus housing check in with the Office of Residential Education and Campus Housing (REACH).

  • Move-in Day is for those living on-campus. This programming is optional for all other incoming students.

 

Big Nite: Sonoma State's annual 'Big Nite' is open to all current and incoming students. This event features authentic carnival rides, games, prizes, food, and attractions just like a county fair! The first club fair of the academic year takes place at Big Nite. Students will have the opportunity to meet some of the 80+ SSU clubs and organizations on-campus. There will also be music by DJ C-Los, laser tag, a petting zoo, and local community businesses who want to welcome our Seawolves back! Expect a plethora of free munchies including Kona Shaved Ice, Dippin Dots, popcorn, funnel cakes, pizza. 

*Big Nite is a student-only event. Upon entrance, proof of SSU identification is required. For more information, please contact Director of Student Involvement, Mo Phillips.
