What to Expect During Orientation

During your in-person Noma Nation Orientation experience, you will:

  • Learn about campus departments, services, and student resources
  • Receive guidance on general education and major requirements
  • Register for your first-semester courses
  • Explore campus
  • Connect with fellow incoming students, staff, and faculty

Orientation is designed to help you feel confident, supported, and prepared for academic and personal success at SSU.

Designed for all new undergraduate students starting in the spring semester, Noma Nation Orientation is a required program that helps you get connected, informed, and ready for your SSU journey. Participation is mandatory for all incoming undergraduate students.

How to Reserve Your Orientation Date

Once you’ve accepted your offer of admission and paid your Enrollment Reservation Deposit, you’ll be automatically signed up for Noma Nation Orientation within 2–3 business days. After your spot is confirmed, you’ll get a confirmation email with all the details.

Fall Orientation Information

  • Set up your SSU login Make sure you know your SSU username and password, and set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your mobile device. See details if you need help with the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) for Students. If you need help, contact the IT Help Desk at (707) 664-4357.
  • Complete the Student Toolkit – The online Student Toolkit gives you a preview of the courses you’ll take in your first semester and shows you how to register. Finishing it ahead of time will help you feel prepared.

Check-in starting at 9 a.m. on the 3rd Floor of the Student Center.
Complimentary parking is available in Lot D.
