Orientation is a required and exciting first step for all incoming undergraduate students, including both first-year and transfer students! It’s your opportunity to connect with the programs, services, and support systems that will set you up for success. You’ll gain insider knowledge about campus life, academic expectations, and resources available to help you thrive.
Please note: If you were previously enrolled at SSU and it has been more than two years, you’ll need to attend Orientation again to get reconnected and up to date.
Incoming first-year students who are part of EOP are not required to participate in Noma Nation Orientation, as they will instead participate in Summer Bridge. Incoming transfer students who are part of EOP are required to participate in Noma Nation Orientation.
The Noma Nation Orientation fee is $105, and it is non-refundable. The Orientation fee is included within the enrollment deposit (ERD) that students pay when they accept their admission to Sonoma State University. Both first-year and transfer students have the option of registering guests.
In-person Orientation is required for all new undergraduate students. If you would like to request an exception, please contact Noma Nation Orientation by email at [email protected] or call (707) 664-4464. Our office is open Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m.
If you’d like disability-related accommodations for Orientation, complete the Orientation Accommodation Request Form. A staff member from Disability Services for Students (DSS) will follow up to formalize your request and work with you to provide the best possible Orientation experience.
The University does not offer overnight housing during Orientation. See our Directions, Hotels & Transportation page for more information about local lodging.
It is extremely important to submit official transcripts, as they are necessary to ensure we have everything needed to make an accurate evaluation of the courses you have taken. Any delays in submitting official transcripts can affect your ability to register for classes.
Dates to submit by:
- Students starting in the fall semester should submit all official transcripts by July 1
- Students starting in the spring semester should submit all official transcripts by January 10
For help, visit How to Submit Your Transcripts.
