Sonoma State Student's Sibling building a bear

Siblings Weekend

Seawolf Siblings Weekend is the perfect chance for all students to invite their siblings, cousins, or neighbors to experience life on campus. This event is open to students living on or off-campus who want to bring their "siblings" along for the fun.

The weekend is designed primarily for guests ages 5 to 15, but siblings of all ages are welcome to join. Please be prepared to stay with your younger guests to supervise them, and make sure older siblings are aware of campus policies during their visit.

We look forward to hosting your family and friends for a great weekend at SSU.

Seawolf Siblings Weekend will take place on February 27 – March 1, 2026!

Seawolf Siblings Weekend Experience

Our goal is to provide a safe and memorable on-campus experience for all students and their siblings. We have plenty of activities planned to keep guests of all ages entertained, including movies, crafts, theater productions, video game tournaments, karaoke, and more.

We provide a full schedule of events, but you and your siblings choose how to spend the weekend. Since everything takes place on campus, no transportation is required.

As a bonus, every registered sibling will receive a 2026 Seawolf Siblings Weekend t-shirt. We will also have additional treats and giveaways to pick up throughout the weekend. We can't wait to see you there.

What Do I Need To Do as the SSU Host?

The SSU host is responsible for obtaining permission from roommates and suitemates prior to the siblings' arrival. Due to fire codes, no more than four siblings per suite are allowed.

For hosts living on campus, there is a limit of four siblings per suite or room due to fire codes. Consequently, suitemates must coordinate the details for all guests, and every guest must be registered with an RA.

You will need information for all of your siblings, including their names, ages, shirt sizes, and emergency contact information.

Register Your Seawolf Sibling(s)

All SSU students with siblings attending the event are required to attend a 30-minute information meeting. During this session, we will review waivers, share details about ticketed events, and discuss key policies and goals for the weekend.

Waivers

Parents/guardians/emergency contacts will need to sign and email (or deliver at registration) back waivers in order for your siblings to participate in the program. Once we receive your registration, we will email both a campus as well as a Recreation Center waiver to the parents/guardians/emergency contacts. They will need to email the waiver back to [email protected]

We must have waivers signed and turned in by registration in order for your sibling to participate.

FAQs

We will need the names and contact information for each guest’s parents, guardians, or emergency contacts, as well as their signed waivers.

Every sibling who joins us for the weekend will receive an official SSU Siblings Weekend t-shirt, along with various treats and freebies. We will provide all events and activities, including tickets for sporting events and entrance to the Rec Center, Makerspace, and other venues. Pizza and snacks will also be available at several events throughout the weekend.

Participation in the program and its scheduled activities is completely free of charge.

SSU hosts and families are responsible for their own transportation, lodging (if not staying on campus), and meals. Since there is no registration fee for this program, providing main meals is the responsibility of the SSU host.
