Parent and Family Programs

At Sonoma State University, Parent and Family Programs are dedicated to supporting you, our students' parents, and family members. Recognizing your vital role, we believe that being well-informed about the university enhances your ability to contribute to your student’s success. We aim to be your partner throughout your students’ educational journey. Our primary functions include:

  • Promoting awareness of campus resources 

  • Enhancing student success

  • Fostering campus support and goodwill

  • Engaging parents and families within the campus community and beyond

SSU Parent and Family Association

The Sonoma State Univerity Parent and Family Association fosters a community of parents and families as partners in their student’s journey at Sonoma State. In collaboration with University Advancement, your membership includes a “Proud Parent” t-shirt and special recognition and swag at our signature events.

Annual Parent and Family Events

  • Parent and Family Weekend is a great opportunity to connect with your student, explore the campus, and engage with other SSU families in a fun and informative setting. This event usually takes place in October. 

  • Siblings Weekend is a great chance for little brothers, sisters, cousins, or neighbors to visit their siblings on campus for a weekend. This event usually takes place in February.
