The Parent and Family Programs is an initiative that supports you, as parents and family members of Sonoma State University (SSU) students. You play an important role at SSU and we believe that the more you know about the university, the more you can contribute to your student’s success here, and we want to be your partner in your student’s education.
Parent and Family Programs aim to provide the resources that you need to stay connected and support your student’s success from Orientation to Commencement.
The purpose of Parent & Family Programs is to create and strengthen the vital partnership between parents and families of enrolled students and the University, and to support student parents and caregivers. The primary functions of the program include:
Promoting information about campus resources
Supporting student success
Providing resources for student parents and caregivers
Generating support and goodwill for the campus
Creating an interactive role for parents and families within the campus community and beyond
SSU Parent and Family Association
A new initiative we started in Fall 2022 is our SSU Parent and Family Association.
The purpose of the Parent and Family Association is to help to cultivate a community of parents and families as partners in their student’s journey at Sonoma State. In partnership with our University Advancement and the SSU Alumni Association, with your membership, you’ll receive a “Proud Parent” t-shirt, and special recognition and swag at our signature Parent and Family Programs events.
