What do I do BEFORE Orientation Welcome Week?

Preparing for Orientation Welcome Week

Orientation is all about setting yourself up for success as an SSU student through your academics, as well as extracurricular and social activities. We want you to be ready for your journey during your time at Sonoma State University.  So, we have planned and coordinated a number of activities (some suggested, others required) for you to take part in before your advising and registration appointment and, ultimately, your arrival onto campus!

Virtual Sessions to Consider Attending

The Seawolf Summer Success Series: Ask Me Anything (AMA:S4) is designed to help you onboard to Sonoma State (SSU) by setting you up for success right away. Our first session is about working with Financial Aid and the Seawolf Service Center. The second session is about all the things you'll need to know about living on campus at SSU. Session three is about our campus dining and how our Wolfbucks work. And our last session is about utilizing the University's Bookstore, ordering books, etc.

Seawolf Summer Success Series: Ask Me Anything

Each of these workshops was live-streamed and are now available for viewing via url links below. They consist of 30-45 minute presentations as well as Q&As.

How to Pay for School and do Business with SSU

We have arranged for the Directors of The Seawolf Service Center and Financial Aid to discuss the best ways to, not only, pay for school but to keep up to date on information about billing, payment deadlines, and services through our business office. See link above to virtually attend their Ask Me Anything Seawolf Summer Success Series talk on Tuesday, June 27th @ 6pm.

Are You a Student Athlete?

If you're a student athlete you have even more that you have to be ready for.  Please attend our virtual session, Get in the Game. This link will be made available in May 2023 and will come directly from Intercollegiate Athletics.

Pre-Orientation To Dos and Reminders

COVID-19 Vaccine

The California State University system requires that all students, faculty, and staff who wish to access campus facilities or programs be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Per the CDC, up to date means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible. Fully vaccinated means a person has received their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines, and the most resent booster recommended by the CDC.

All students must submit proof of vaccination or requests for an exemption based on medical, religious reasons, or deeply held belief via the MyHealth portal. Students who are attending classes fully remote may submit a request for a waiver to the vaccine requirement.

The Student Health Center is offering COVID-19 boosters to currently enrolled students. Simply log into MyHealthPortal to schedule an appointment. You may call the Student Health Center at 707-664-2921 if your desired day shows no availability.

For More information, please visit the COVID-19 page on SSU's website for detail information and contact information.
